The Most Difficult (and Beautiful) Lesson

On knowing yourself, being with what’s true, and letting the lesson unfold, with questions for coaches

The label of a lesson really resonates.

It’s not described as a goal.
Or a box to tick.
It’s something we keep returning to, with fresh eyes and an open heart.

It sounds simple.
But knowing ourselves means being willing to look and notice.
To be open to listening to our own wisdom.

It’s not about fixing.
It’s about recognising.
And sometimes, simply sitting with what’s true long enough for something new to be seen.

Coaching Reflection: Knowing Yourself

  • What are you noticing about yourself lately?
  • Where do you meet resistance when you look inward?
  • How do you support clients in becoming more familiar with who they really are?
  • What makes this lesson difficult, and what makes it beautiful?

As always:
No pressure to answer everything.
Let one question walk with you today.
Some lessons unfold slowly, and some quicker, and that’s okay.

“Make it thy business to know thyself, which is the most difficult lesson in the world.”
(Miguel de Cervantes)
