When we start with what’s true, imagination can expand our possibilities.
Sometimes our mind gets creative in ways that aren’t helpful: filling in the blanks with assumptions, jumping to conclusions, or building whole storylines on top of very little.
But imagination can also open possibilities when we start with what’s true and then explore from there.
Questions For Coaches
- Where in your life are you making up the facts before checking them?
- How does your thinking change when you slow down and separate what you know from what you’re imagining?
- In your coaching, how do you help clients notice the difference between fact and assumption?
- How might imagination, grounded in truth, help you or a client see new possibilities?
As always, you don’t need to answer every question, they’re here to spark reflection.
