True speed often comes from calm, not haste.
“I am in a hurry; therefore, I go slowly.” (Latin American proverb)
It’s easy to think that moving faster will get us there sooner.
When we feel pressure, our minds often race ahead; trying to plan, predict, and perfect our next steps.
But when our minds speed up, our thinking scatters. We lose the steadiness that helps things flow more easily.
In the rush to keep up, we often create the very delays we were trying to avoid.
Slowing down isn’t the same as stopping. It’s allowing clarity to catch up with us.
When we act from calm, we see more, sense more, and respond with greater ease.
It’s in that slower, steadier rhythm that life begins to move forward naturally again.
Questions For Coaches
- What helps you slow down when everything feels urgent?
- How do you notice the difference between moving quickly and moving clearly?
- When have you seen calm action achieve more than hurried effort?
- What changes when you let stillness set the pace?
You don’t need to answer every question, just notice which one feels alive for you.
