Sometimes the connection we’re longing for begins in how we treat ourselves.
Today is World Friendship Day
A moment to reflect, not just on who our friends are but on what friendship really means to us.
Are there unwritten rules you expect others to follow?
The ways they should show up, what they should remember, how they should be?
And what about your friendship with yourself?
If you were being a good friend to you, what would shift?
Would you notice more of the kinder thoughts that pass through your head?
Would you give yourself more space?
Would you stop second-guessing your needs,
or gently remind yourself that you’re doing okay?
Sometimes the friendship we long for is waiting in how we treat ourselves.
Questions For Coaches
- What assumptions do you hold about what a “real friend” should do?
- What kind of friend are you to yourself?
- What would it look like to treat yourself with more kindness or patience?
- What changes when you recognise your own needs without judgment?
No need to answer them all, just see where your attention is drawn.
