Coaching Quote of the Day 31st January 2013

"To be listened to is, generally speaking, a nearly unique experience for most people. It is enormously stimulating. ...." A quote by Robert C. Murphy

“To be listened to is, generally speaking, a nearly unique experience for most people. It is enormously stimulating.

It is small wonder that people who have been demanding all their lives to be heard so often fall speechless when confronted with one who gravely agrees to lend an ear.

Man clamors for the freedom to express himself and for knowing that he counts.

But once offered these conditions, he becomes frightened.”

(Robert C. Murphy)

Going Beyond Your Current Coaching

2013 Going Beyond Your Current Coaching Discovery Session

Did you make lots of exciting plans for your coaching at the start of this year?

If you did, and as we approach the end of the first month of 2013, how are you doing with those plans?

I’ve had several interactions with existing coaches over the past few weeks where at some stage the conversation has turned to how they are finding 2013 so far. Some are having a great time and find that exciting things are happening either as part of a bigger plan or because of an even better opportunity that’s come out of the blue.

Others are busy doing what they think they “should” be doing and focusing on what they are suppose to be concentrating upon. Yet they feel that they don’t seem to be getting anywhere. Disappointment, frustration and draining motivation are all elements I’ve come across for those honest enough to share that’s how they feel.

My work is all about supporting, nurturing and encouraging coaching skills and talents and so I’ve decided for a limited time I’ll gift a Going Beyond Your Current Coaching Discovery Session to selected readers.

What is a Going Beyond Your Current Coaching Discovery Session?

  • An hour to purely focus upon you and your coaching business.
  • A space for you to say out loud the things that have been in your head and discover/clarify your vision for the future.
  • A time we can identify what’s been preventing you from taking your coaching to the next level and look for opportunities you’ve been missing.
  • My aim is that you will leave the phone/skype session more at ease having identified your next step.

I have 6 sessions available and I would love for one of those sessions to be yours if it feels right for you!

If you would like one of the 6 sessions to be yours please visit this page to enter your details.

The most popular quote from our twitter account in week 4 of 2013:

Most RT'd quotes last week on @thecoachingblog

I thought I’d start to share each Monday the most RT’d quote from the blogs twitter account over the previous week.

Last week the one quote that was RT’d the most was:

“Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.”

(Jim Rohn)

Tweeted on 25th January

The second most RT’d tweet was:

“Confidence comes not from always being right but from not fearing to be wrong.”

(Peter T Mcintyre)

Tweeted on 21st January

thank you

Many thanks to everyone who shared the quotes above and the other quotes from last week. I know that there are various aspects that can influence if a quote attracts your attention – if you saw the tweet, personal style, if it speaks to something happening in your life at that moment etc.

Which quote do you prefer?

Recapping the Facebook Monday Invite (from 21st January)

share your posts

Each Monday on this blogs Facebook page I issue the following question and invitation:

“Have you written/seen a blog post in the past week that you’d think is of interest to coaches and that you’d like to share?”

At the end of each week I will be posting a recap of a selection of the links shared that Monday on our Facebook page.

Posts shared on Monday 21st January 2013:

  • “The Power of Language” a post shared by Survivors Coach Marie Yates
  • “Keep on trying…” a post shared by coach Jeff Hutchens
  • “How to get happy” a post shared by Personal Coach Joe Standerline

Bonus posts:

These are a few posts that also attracted my attention:

  • “Will you ever be good enough?” by Karren Williams
  • “Exactly the same vs. exactly different” by Seth Godin

Want your post included next week?

If you have a post that you think will be of interest to coaches take part in tomorrow’s Monday invite and leave the details on our Facebook page.

Whilst it’s lovely for posts to be sent to me via twitter, the nature of a tweet means that it can easily be overlooked when this post is being compiled at a later time. Please leave links in one place, ie our Facebook page so they can be easily shared.
