Make Up Your Own Holiday Day
“Celebrate the happiness that friends are always giving, make every day a holiday and celebrate just living!”
(Amanda Bradley)
March 26th is “make up your own holiday day.” I’ve often read that a particular day is a day to celebrate x, y or z and wondered how that happened.
Don’t get me wrong, I joyfully take part in the fun of some – In the UK we have just celebrated mothers day and we’re only 179 days from International talk like a pirate day (September 19th in case you are wondering.) I just get curious about how, for example, 24th March is the American National Chocolate Covered Raisins Day (Not to be confused with the Chocolate Covered Anything Day on December 16th!)
A holiday (or holy-day) is a time to celebrate, commemorate or honour a particular event, person or thing. It is often a time designed to raise awareness/remember and generally be grateful.
